Mobile Blood Bank-World Blood Donor Day
Tuesday, 13 June 2017 08:26

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment will hold an official ceremony to commission a Mobile Blood Bank, on Wednesday 14th June beginning 8:45 a.m. - 9:30 a.m., at the Old Treasury Building Site.

The event coincides with World Blood Donor Day, which is celebrated on 14th June each year.

The Mobile Unit was supplied by Buckinghams of Kenilkworth Ltd., under contract no. SIRHASC SUP0107. Financial support was provided by the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO), to assist in the commissioning of the Mobile Unit. This Unit will help to strengthen the pathology laboratory's capacity to deliver a more reliable and safe supply of blood and blood products to those in need, by increasing blood collection among voluntary donors.

The media is invited to cover this event.
